Ute, trailer roll over

-

A MAN was lucky to escape serious injury after rolling his utility and trailer on the Kennedy Hwy yesterday morning and blocking traffic for almost two hours. It is believed the 21-yearold braked near the intersection of Windy Hollow Rd at Speewah just after 7am, which caused the trailer, which was carrying tree lopping equipment, to jackknife and roll. He was not seriously injured. The road was closed until about 8.40am and caused major delays.

Three injured in crash

THREE people were taken to Cairns Hospital following an accident on the Bruce Hwy yesterday. The two-vehicle crash occurred about 4pm on the Bruce Hwy near Warner Rd at Wrights Creek south of Cairns. The trio were reported to be in a stable condition.

Missing boy search

POLICE are following up a number of sightings of a young boy missing since Sunday. A Queensland Police spokesman last night said officers were still searching for the boy and thanked members of the public for some tips. The 10-year-old boy was reported missing from Manunda and was last seen on Sunday about 11.30pm at a David St address. Police hold concerns for his welfare due to his young age. The boy is described as Aboriginal, 155cm tall and has black hair with brown eyes. It is believed the boy may be in the Cairns CBD area and also wearing a maroon coloured Tshirt.
