On Israel Folau

-

Re: Folau sacking. Perhaps some people are missing the point. He had a contract with certain requirements. Which he breached. And therefore sacked. But it brings a more important fact to light. Freedom of speech is something we seem to miss. He had every right to say what he said. Seems political correctness has been taken out of context. And I hope he wins his case. Otherwise he should sell his skills to rival countries where you have freedom of speech without upsetting the ignorant masses. Almanac, Edmonton David, (CP, 25/06). Folau is using religion to get money. No one is questioning religion. He is a multi-millionaire, he can afford to pay his own bills. If people are silly enough to put money in, that’s their business. Bill, Mooroobool Some people haven’t yet worked out that it is God on trial in the Israel Folau matter (CP, 25/06). The Torah, the Bible, and the Koran are all coming under attack by leftist extremists. These core religious texts that underpin the formation of the world’s greatest civilisations have a natural and absolute right to exist in the public narrative. Only communists would disagree. Darryl, Aeroglen immigrant class who don’t give a damn about that or any other “popular” meme. They just want to make a truckload of money and expand their families as quickly as possible. Pretty soon “climate” will be a small minority’s issue. Tradie, Colorado Regarding the IS kids coming home. How much is this going to cost the taxpayers of Australia? We see adverts on TV every night asking us to help the Smith Family so kids have uniforms and school books. If we have the money to provide ongoing counselling then we should have the money to give Aussie kids all their school needs. Beth, Kanimbla Retiree, CBD. You’re backing a loser again. Once again your propaganda doesn't stack up. The LNP had to make strong decisions after last Labor mess. Look at the mess and debt incurred by present Labor government. High spending and borrowing. David, Holloways Beach So GBRMPA (CP, 25/06) is to steer away from alarmism and back towards tourism. Obviously tourism is more sustainable than alarmism as it has no end date. We need a Royal Commission into GBRMPA’s dalliance with alarmism. We deserve to know where our money went. Miss T, Tolga On Cairns Show, Richard, Palm Cove. Not sure if you have kids, but those of us who want to keep them entertained, regard the Cairns Show as a day out. Yes, it can be expensive, but I try and encourage my kids to save a bit from their pocket money to be able to go and it works well. Dean, Bentley Park If the council’s by-laws don’t distinguish between a miniature horse and a clydesdale then they should be changed so that commonsense can prevail and Jack can be kept on a regular-sized household block. A great dane is as large as, if not bigger than a miniature horse, and I know of an instance where two are kept in suburbia and bark continuously. Chris, Bayview Heights
