On other matters

I am a typical gun loving “ozzy” and would remind you that it was guns that have given you the freedom to have your opinion. Trucks kill innocent people every day, should we ban them also? It is the operator who is at fault!

I simply ask the BOM 2 questions, why considering we live a metric world they still use fahrenheit and since when, if the temp is, say 72 or 98, they can tell us it “feels” like a diff temp? Their official records must be the official temps not their “feels like” temps.

Aeroplanes today are incredibly noise efficient and relatively quiet. Modern trucks today are also very quiet. Why are large American styled motorcycles so incredibly loud and noisy? Surely they are illegal and don’t comply with modern noise standards. Cairns seems to be full of them.

If the rumours are true and Cronulla are looking at playing home games elsewhere from Shark Park for the next 2 years due to renovations why doesn’t Bob Manning and Cairns council look at getting them to play a home game or 2 up here at either Barlow or Cazalys preferably against the Wests Tigers? Would be good for the city and all parties concerned.

Re: Cairns Show. I did not plan properly so I had to withdraw cash inside the gates. $4 transaction fee, max of $200. There’s two ways to measure my gripe: If 10-15% of the crowd used these ATMs just once that’s $40,000+ gifted. On the other hand that’s a 2-20% handling fee per transaction. Yeesh, that’s bold.

Sugar cane farmers who burn their cane should be ashamed of themselves. This week has been a nightmare for asthma and hay fever sufferers. Sugar cane burning is air pollution, especially near residential areas. It’s disgusting. Why should half of Cairns struggle to breathe for weeks when there are other ways? We might as well be living in some industrial city in China. Cairns residents deserve to be able to breathe clean air.
