Tell the whole story
I SEE James Cook University is running out of money again and they can’t get any money for the Reef so are trying for the animals in the rainforest. The number of possums is decreasing due to climate change and a one degree raise in temperature.
But we do not mention the number of feral animals that have increased in the last 10 years – cats, foxes, wild dogs, pigs, and urban development moving into the rainforest. Of course, these would not have any effect on the native animals.
We don’t mention these because the Greens and conservationists won’t let hunters or governments into the rainforest to control them.
The university would get better supported from the general public if they told the whole story and not half the story.
They will not be happy until they stop the tourists from coming to the rainforest like they have done with the Great Barrier Reef.
