BCF G — Boating Camping Fishing Golf — this weekend for the BCF Innisfail three-ball ambrose trophy day. Beautiful blue skies and perfect conditions greeted a strong field. BCF Innisfail manager Shane Bradley had the prize table loaded with heaps of goodies to contest for. Ashley Healy, Anne Hapgood and Alan Hapgood shot a respectable 2 under 67 off the bat, but with their generous handicap of 12, they posted the winning score of 55 nett. The men in black team of David Welch, Kelvin Groves and Dylan Williams (who were paying in the AAA’s grouping) were on fire with the best gross of the day, 3 under 66, but they netted 57 to claim second place because of their handicap. They claimed NTPs on 1/10 and 9/18 and the running battle and banter with their opponents was entertaining. Sols, Tim and Wayne under the guidance of coach Shane, claimed third. Silver GG and Bruce got the Bradman’s, but all the field carded sub par rounds and less than 10 shots separated the whole field. So overall a great day for all, with our generous sponsors provided prizes down to fifth place. Graham Murray’s team got the NTP on 5/14, but the funniest shots were coming up the 18th. Captain Bob was keen to test the new practice green and landed there out of bounds. Graham went one better and hooked his onto an unsuspecting car in the car park. No harm done, but plenty of heckling. Thanks, Shane, and BCF Innisfail team for a great day.

In last week’s Malanda RSL/Falls Teahouse monthly medal, Bruce Hunter won the day with a great nett 68 over Warrick Howarth who shot nett 66, but due to winning previously had to add the two-shot fee on top and endure second place in the countback. Both great golf, fellas. NTPs were 1/10 Don McHardie, 5/14 David Welch and 9/18 Warrick. Next week we play for the WGC Lawyers trophy day. Let’s hope for the continuation of this superb golfing weather. TRAINER DOG QUEEN VILLA SOVEREIGN STORM CRACKERJACK CASH JOHN STRACHIN CHINA SWAGGER NUDGE’S CHANCE BLISTERING BEAR PAINT THE OCEAN
