Hypocrisy at meeting
THE root cause of Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta, sinking is an overpopulation of 10 million people that has been using underground freshwater which is now running dry.
A massive sink hole is forming in its place and hence the city is sinking. There is no way to correct this other than to move the capital.
Sadly, it is estimated that if Indonesia lost 200 million people it would still be overpopulated and Indonesia doesn’t even appear on the world’s top 10 most overpopulated countries.
With increased immigration there are several South Pacific countries that have become unsustainably overpopulated which adds to global warming so there was some considerable hypocrisy at the recent meeting on Tuvalu.
I repeat that Australia’s estimated sustainable population is 16 million people.
Currently we have 25 million which is causing considerable problems, not only in our cities, but loss of habitat for our wildlife, to mention just two. Alan Sparks, Bungalow 1915: The last major fighting by Australian
