Mental health walk
CONQUER The Corrugations is back for another year with its annual Cape York Mental Health Awareness Walk. The event will be held between September 27-30 and covers a 42km stretch from Coen to the Archer River Roadhouse. Food will be provided for the event. Efficiency checks
COOK Shire Council is offering free resource efficiency assessments for local schools and businesses. They will be carried out between September 10-13 and will look at energy, water and waste efficiencies. Call 4069 5444 for more information.
Response training
FRONTLINE health workers at Weipa are invited to attend a free, nationally-recognised two-day training session on domestic violence awareness and responses. The training will take place at the Weipa Storm Surge Shelter from 9-6pm on September 5-6. To register, visit dvalert.org.au
Weipa movie night
FAMILIES can enjoy two films at the Kumrumja Centre on September 21. The first movie session will be Dumbo from 6.30-8.30pm, followed by Top End Wedding from 9-11pm.
