Mental health walk

CONQUER The Corrugatio­ns is back for another year with its annual Cape York Mental Health Awareness Walk. The event will be held between September 27-30 and covers a 42km stretch from Coen to the Archer River Roadhouse. Food will be provided for the event. COOK Shire Council is offering free resource efficiency assessment­s for local schools and businesses. They will be carried out between September 10-13 and will look at energy, water and waste efficienci­es. Call 4069 5444 for more informatio­n.

Response training

FRONTLINE health workers at Weipa are invited to attend a free, nationally-recognised two-day training session on domestic violence awareness and responses. The training will take place at the Weipa Storm Surge Shelter from 9-6pm on September 5-6. To register, visit dvalert.org.au

Weipa movie night

FAMILIES can enjoy two films at the Kumrumja Centre on September 21. The first movie session will be Dumbo from 6.30-8.30pm, followed by Top End Wedding from 9-11pm.
