Woman missing
ITEMS FOR AUCTION INCLUDES: POLICE are appealing for help to find a 39-year-old woman who has been reported missing from Gordonvale. Paulina Kolber was last seen at a home on Norman St on September 6, and has not been seen since. Police hold concerns for Ms Kolber’s welfare, as she has a medical condition. She is described as being caucasian, approximately 173cm tall, and of a medium build, with long brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink skirt. Anyone with information regarding the woman’s location is urged to contact police by phoning 131 444.
Stalking charge
AN Earlville man accused of stalking a woman at her workplace was a voluntary patient with Queensland Mental Health, a court has heard. Kenneth Poyner, 49, allegedly made numerous unsolicited advances to the woman between November 2018 and August this year. He was not known to the woman other than being a customer. Poyner, 49, appeared in custody at Cairns Magistrates Court charged with unlawful stalking. The matter has been adjourned to October 14 so the defendant can seek further legal advice.
Crash victim stable
A MOTORIST was transported to hospital, following a single vehicle crash on the Atherton Tableland in the early hours of yesterday. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the crash occurred on Chettle and Mareeba-Dimbulah Rd, at about 12.25am. The patient was transported by paramedics in a stable condition to Mareeba Hospital.
Phone theft charges
THE alleged Cairns “Tinder bandit” case will be mentioned in court later this month. Michael Thomas Reed, 37, is accused of stealing phones from three people known to him, at various locations in the Cairns CBD and Cairns North between June 6 and July 3. Investigating police have alleged that the Gordonvale man used dating apps, including Tinder, to meet up with the alleged victims. His matter has been adjourned for mention at the Cairns Magistrates Court on September 23.
