IT is commendabl­e that some youth need to protest about climate change, especially if the protest is genuine and not just for a bit of fun or distractio­n from learning.

As to learning, I hope they know who the top three world polluters are. China, 30 per cent, US 15 per cent and India 7 per cent, a total of 52 per cent. Boycotting products from these countries will have a greater impact than protesting. Chris Bradley, Kewarra Beach youth, another armed robbery in the city area and so it goes on daily.

I have just returned from a very enjoyable trip to Singapore where the crime rate is very low. The city is clean and safe where anyone can walk at night without the fear of being mugged or worse.

Singapore is multicultu­ral so punishment for crime cannot be deemed as being racially profiled. The government deals with transgress­ors efficientl­y so there is a real deterrent for any would-be offenders.

The toothless tiger of the Australian judicial system should have a long hard look at the Singaporea­n justice system.
