Climate is a hit for six

-

I FIND myself admiring, not only Shane Warne’s bowling skill, but agreeing with him about the world’s future.

Warne is on the MCC World Committee. He recently talked about the Hit for Six report, published last week, which examined threats to cricket from climate change.

We all have to admit now that climate change is a huge issue,” Warne said. “I have got three children – 22, 20 and just about to turn 18 – it’s a different world for them. People want to put their head in the sand, and say I’m not going to be around in 50 years. That’s just wrong.”

Our school students going on climate strike refuse to act like lambs to the slaughter, and instead are facing up against what the report called “humanity’s most pressing challenge”.

That’s brilliant. Time for us adults to support them and join them on the Esplanade this Friday morning.
