Protest is a hypocrisy

-

DUE to my ignorance of the times, venues and duration of the climate strikes by school students and teachers and if all and sundry will be attending on Friday, I ask readers to please verify a few details.

Are they a full school day protest or only for an hour or two? Will schools be open to those who wish to learn and not attend the protest?

If they are for an hour or two why is a full day of school needed and if they are closed for a full or part day this discriminates against students who wish to attend school?

Either way our taxpayer-funded schools are there for learning and not protesting. I’m going to take the advice of Greens Party leader Richard Di Natale and attend as in his words “any boss who sacks anyone for not turning up to work this Friday is a bum“.

Such prophetic words my employer would certainly heed. This is absolute hypocrisy at its most arrogant. Happy long weekend.
