Pye – Starts: 7, Best finish: 2nd (2017 & 2018); Luff – Starts: 19, Best finish: 2nd (2017 & 2018). Starts together: 2 Whenever Pye and Luff get in the car together at Bathurst, good things happen for them. The duo will be hoping to go one step further after finishing second the past two years.

CAR #6 Cameron Waters Michael Caruso CAR #8 Nick Percat Tim Blanchard
Percat – Starts: 8, Best finish: 1st (2011); Blanchard – Starts: 8, Best finish: 10th (2016). Starts together: 0 Percat is one of the best at Bathurst, winning on debut and claiming two other podium finishes. If the car is reliable then this combination is in contention.
CAR #9 David Reynolds Luke Youlden
Reynolds – Starts: 11, Best finish: 1st (2017); Youlden – Starts: 19, Best finish: 1st (2017). Starts together: 2 The duo won in 2017 and should have won last year if Reynolds did not suffer from fatigue late in the race. Both know what it takes to make the car quick in the dry and the wet.
CAR #2 Fabian Coulthard Tony D’Alberto
Coulthard – Starts: 15, Best finish: 3rd (2017); D’Alberto – Starts: 14, Best finish: 3rd (2017). Starts together: 3 Coulthard has had one of the best cars all season and you’d expect that to continue at Bathurst. The duo finished third in 2017 having had a shot at winning that year.
CAR #17 Scott McLaughlin Alex Premat
McLaughlin – Starts: 7, Best finish: 3rd (2018); Premat – Starts: 7, Best finish: 2nd (2016). Starts together: 4 McLaughlin is the No.1 driver in the field and still has the No.1 car but his Achilles heel is Bathurst. He’s had chances to win. His co-driver has done well recently, finishing on the podium twice in the past three years.
Winterbottom – Starts: 16, Best finish: 1st (2013); Richards – Starts: 26, Best finish: 1st (1998, 1999, 2013, 2015, 2018). Starts together: 6 If this year’s Bathurst was won on experience then this duo would take it out. The duo has raced the most times together, Richards rejoining Winterbottom after winning last year with Lowndes.

CAR #55 Chaz Mostert James Moffat
Mostert – Starts: 6, Best finish: 1st (2014); Moffat – Starts: 9, Best finish: 2nd (2014). Starts together: 1 Mostert has been the leading Ford behind McLaughlin for most of the season and he has an experienced co-driver. The only issue is Mostert can’t seem to produce a clean weekend at the Mountain.
CAR #97 Shane Van Gisbergen Garth Tander
Van Gisbergen – Starts: 12, Best finish: 2nd (2016); Tander – Starts: 21, Best finish: 1st (2000, 2009, 2011).S tarts together: 0 The team has a quick car, both drivers are very strong and one of the drivers has won it all before. The only negative is the combination hasn’t raced together with other favourites having that luxury.
CAR #888 Jamie Whincup Craig Lowndes
Whincup – Starts: 17, Best finish: 1st (2006, 2007, 2008, 2012); Lowndes – Starts: 25, Best finish: 1st (1996, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2015, 2018). Starts together: 4 This combination has the most wins together with three, the most wins overall out of drivers with 11 and the duo has not finished outside of the top four during their time as a combination. Both know how to win and with the improvements to the Red Bull car have now got the car to win.
