Junior years over, time for next stage

ON Tuesday in week nine, Year 5 students from St Andrew’s Catholic College ventured to the All Saints’ Theatre to attend the Year 5 Exiting Ceremony.

The Exiting Ceremony is the Year 5 graduation from the junior years of the college.

The morning was actionpacked, with many of our families coming to the theatre to see our graduation.

The Exiting Ceremony had a liturgy where we gave thanks to all of the people that have helped the Year 5s complete their education in the junior years.

This was followed by speeches from the junior years college captains Ava Bolton, James O’SullivanRoberts and Makenzie Webber.

After the captains spoke, our principal Dr Sean Mangan gave a speech about how we need to be ready for new challenges in the middle years of the college.

The final speech was made by Kim Bennett who asked the Year 5s to be open to trying new things in the middle years.

When the speeches ended, we got to show off our dance moves on the All Saints’

Theatre stage.

There was so many cool lights and the music was so loud. Our families were so excited by the dancing.

After the dancing, all of the Year 5 students received their graduation certificate and a photo of all of the Year 5s that was taken during the Year 6 Transition Day.

The best part was seeing a slide show of photos showing us growing up from Prep.

We are so proud of our friends and being able to celebrate with them on this exciting day was special for each of us.

When the ceremony ended, we went to the foyer of the All Saints’ Theatre to eat cake and have morning tea with our families.

We all took photos in front of the posters that we made showing how much we have grown since Prep!

We would like to thank our families for helping us to graduate from the junior years of St Andrew’s Catholic College.

We would also like to thank our Year 5 Teachers for getting us ready for the Exiting Ceremony.

We are very excited to start the middle years on our journey together.
