HOLLYWOOD Flynn won Wednesday sporters’ 13-hole stableford with a great 32 points (2 over 52 gross); runner-up: Bill Grumley 30pts on a countback from Neil Stubbin; NTPs: 11 B Stoward, 13 L Sawtell, 18 Barney; least putts: Hollywood 20.

Thursday ladies had their closing day with a par 3 comp. Winner was club stalwart Muriel Lowery with Ann Moss r/up; NTPs: 5 A Moss, 9 P McMahon, 16 L Morrison, 13 C Piccone.

Kev Morris won Friday’s Trinity Petroleum sixhole chook run again with 15pts, Daz Blooranta r/up on 13pts. Junior winner: Jacko Clark 16pts. Saturday we played the Barry Clough Autosspons­ored Turner Shield stableford. Ladies’ winner was Lois Cross 44pts, r/up: Sam Duck 41pts; NTPs: 11 H Beaven, 13 A Moss, 18 L Morrison. Men’s winner on 44pts was Peter

Steventon, r/up: Peter Doherty 42pts, third: Frank Dati 41pts on countback from Chris McClarty; NTPs: 3 A Dabrowski, 11 Irish, 13 C McClarty, 18 K Riber.

Dave Morrison won Sunday’s Yungaburra Butchery stableford with 3 pts, r/up: Mareeba’s Louie De Zen 37pts on CB from fellow Mareeba mate Alex Hodi.

This week Wednesday sporters play a 13-hole stableford, Friday Trinity Petroleum six-hole chook run followed by goose club draw at 6.30pm, including members’ jackpot joker $1050.

Saturday a medley stableford, Sunday Yungaburra Butchery medley stableford. A reminder that your annual fees are now due.

Resulted in a tie. Australian­s 20 matches to Internatio­nals 20 matches.

Finally, some rain to put a smile on the faces of the members of Ravenshoe Millstream Country

Club. Those playing the medal of medals got wet early in the afternoon, but no one was complainin­g. A second storm later on really drenched the course, so next week green grass will be the order of the day.

Danny Bradley won the medal of medals on a countback from Jim Robinson. It was a closely fought contest with Danny doing better in the aftermath of the rain.

The final social night was well-attended with the kids enjoying their presents from Santa. A big thank you to all involved in the success of these popular fortnightl­y events.

Club person of the year became club persons this year with the award being shared by Jo Klease and Dave Cassells Sr. This was a fitting tribute to two of the hardest working volunteers in the club.

The major prizes for the year at presentati­on night were awarded and members and supporters enjoyed a get-together to celebrate the year.

Sunday golf will continue with the 10-hole summer of golf from 2pm each Sunday. This competitio­n is open to all so bring your friends and visitors over the festive season.

The clubhouse will open on New Year’s Eve for a social night.

The first monthly medal will be held on January 5, 2020.
