Re: climate change. At present mankind is pumping billions of tonnes of CO2 into the earth’s atmosphere annually, and is on track to pump a trillion tonnes by the end of this century. The local “do nothing brigade“would have us believe this has nothing to do with climate issues we are currently witnessing. To do nothing is, not only reckless, but plain stupidity. We must curb emissions with renewable energy.

Climate activists. The way ahead is to prepare. This includes back burning and water management. All the protesting, wagging school, stamping your feet and rude and non-factual placards were time wasters, added hot air and created noise pollution. If you believe your own rhetoric, take a leaf out of Tony Abbott’s book and learn how to fight a fire. If your end goal is to help society, that is one way you could contribute.

The Cairns Post is clogged with the ramblings of climate change denialists. In the meantime the reality of bushfire emergency has convinced last year’s “don’t knowers” that doing nothing is no longer an option.
