A time to reflect
AS terrible as the present fire situation is, there is always another brighter side to the equation.
I can personally guarantee the areas burnt this year will not burn next year. This, I believe, is a compelling case for a royal commission to inquire into the causes, including climate change and it’s affect on bushfires. We, the voters, deserve to be told the truth as to just how much fuel, on average, was on the burnt ground. This suggestion should really appeal to both sides of the political spectrum. The cost of a commission is infinitely less than the dollar value and personal tragedy of the last long months.
Government interference, national parks, and straight out ignorance seem to be the causes of these catastrophic fires and the rain will come.
