Concept is out of hand

-

HOW many performing arts, centres of contemporary arts etc are required for Cairns?

The photo on Page 4 (CP, 15/01) shows “artists“. How many others are jumping on the free money bandwagon under the name of indigenous arts?

The recently refurbished, one-time government building, will house no less than six “arts” divisions which leaves me bewildered.

This whole arts concept is out of hand. Maybe the questions can be answered by the Federal Government and/ or the United Nations.

Good questions were also asked by

Fran Clayton, letters (CP, 15/01). What and who is the parkland for?

The parklands were bequeathed to Cairns by Miss Munro and Miss Martin, who would probably roll over in their graves if they knew what was going on now.
