Notice how climate alarmist David Attenborough (CP, 18/01) has been given platforms throughout the media to promote his views but the better-qualified climate sceptic David Bellamy was “disappeared” from public view to shut him up? Apparently Bellamy’s views on climate were deeply unfashionable.

Why is the QLD Government letting a Chinese company take “water” out of the ground in the Darling Downs and take it to the Gold Coast so they can sell bottled water, this area in QLD is in a drought part of the state. Another smart idea from a government that is out of touch that can’t manage the state till.

Are those two ignoble commoners now going to pay back for their sumptuous royal wedding? I think we’ve been royally conned!

Senator Nita Green was not elected by us the voters in the electorate she has never before lived here, she was chosen by the unions when the Labor Party changed the rules, our previous Senator was born and bred here and had knowledge of all local issues, it speaks for itself!

Re: Tony Popic (CP, 18/01). I agree 100% on your comments regards the unrest at Aurukun. It is enlightening to me that the CP printed your letter and for once we see a constructive reply has been addressed instead of nearly always right wing view points. In fact I will be extremely surprised if my text makes it in your paper!

While there’s no denying community organisations, they should be able to apply for funding on a need basis. This Federal Govt Stronger Communities Program looks more like a vote buying public relations exercise. Not unlike the targeted vote buying scandal the Morrison LNP government is involved in now. Given families, people on Newstart and pensioners are struggling to survive.

Haha, I love that a bloke from Canberra was up here to escape the cold (CP, 18/01). Canberra has Australia’s heaviest concentration of global warming fearmongers, so I laugh when they come here for warmth.

On the Taipans possibly playing an NBA side later on this year (start of next season). I think it’s a victory for common sense. Honestly it is a bit unfair the same teams get to go to America each year while others miss out. Each side should be treated equally. Hopefully the Taipans get to play a decent team.
