Pet wearables ‘your dog needs’

-

FROM tracking a pet’s activity to monitoring their moods, pet-tech is about to go next level with a huge range of new wearables to hit the market.

Start-ups showcased prototypes at the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Some offered deeper levels of tracking of a pet’s health.

KNOW YOUR DOG’S MOOD

It is one of the quirkier bits of pet tech at CES - an Inupathy wearable ‘dog mood visualiser’.

Sensors analyse the heart rate to determine one of five moods – relaxed, happy, excited, stressed or concentrated.

It lights a module on top of the harness in a particular colour to indicate the dog’s mood.

THE PUPPY DOC:

It is the FitBit for dogs. The collar tracks sleep quality, sun exposure, activity, rest-time, depression levels and barking.

MONITOR A DOG’S HEALTH

The fancy leather collar tracks a dog’s pulse, temperature, breathing rate, energy used and pain/stress levels.

Unlike many other wearables, ‘Pethi’ has its sensors inside the collar rather than a bulky device on the outside.

HOME ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM FOR DOGS

GoDogo has created a home entertainment system to ease a dog’s boredom while alone.

The system can be scheduled to start through an app with a virtual instructor popping up on the TV and interacting with the dog by playing games and getting it to complete tasks such as sit, lie down and come.

When the dog completes the task, the instructor gives excited congratulations and a treat is dispensed from a container above the TV.

These new models will be available this year.

The company’s mission was to ‘revolutionise personal photography’ with the little drone able to take stunning HD phobird’s-eye tos and videos from all angles and heights.

The AirSelfie is designed to fly indoors and outdoors with an app allowing users to pilot, shoot photos or video, edit images and share on social media.

Modes include 360-degree video or photos and following the owner.

The company showed how the drone could fly out of the user’s hand and snap photos before returning back to the person.

It can also be controlled manually without the app.

The drone can fly for 6–8 minutes and up to 18m away.

The devices have up to 16GB of memory. AIR PIX costs $A144 and ships worldwide. Tanya French
