THE US Coast Guard says nearly 20,000 pounds (9000 kgs) of cocaine seized in the eastern Pacific Ocean has been brought to San Diego.

The drug haul estimated to be worth about $US338 million ($500 million) was offloaded from the cutter Munro at Naval Base San Diego on Monday morning.

The cocaine was seized in eight operations by the crews of four cutters between midNovember and mid-January.

The Coast Guard released aerial surveillance video showing boats being pursued and boarded at sea.

SCOTT Morrison has urged the Coalition to unite after another week of internal squabbling among the Nationals dominated headlines.

Addressing a joint partyroom meeting yesterday, the Prime Minister said the government needed to work as a team.

“People endorsed us to be the government. We are the government. I’m not, we are. No individual is, we are together the government,” Mr Morrison said.

He noted the Coalition had endured a difficult time in rechael cent months. Political pressure has piled on the Prime Minister and the government over its handling of the bushfire crisis.

Compounding the pain, Barnaby Joyce last week launched a failed bid to overthrow Nationals leader MiMcCormack. A group of rebel Nationals on Monday humiliated the government in parliament by voting with Labor to install turncoat MP Llew O’Brien as Deputy Speaker.

A day later, Mr Morrison (left) urged the partyroom to focus on the people who elected the Coalition at last year’s election.

“The contract with the Australian people is we’re walking through these doors to be the government – their government,” Mr Morrison told senators and MPs.
