On federal politics

Michael McCormack’s angry declarations that he’s not going anywhere (CP, 17/02) remind me of Julia Gillard’s in June 2013 just before she was replaced by Kevin Rudd.

Bryan Blumer (CP, 17/02). As well as Albo and Ros Kelly rorting funding programs, the ANAO (2014) found the vociferous Catherine King, as the former ALP Minister for Regional Services, “provided more than a $100 million for projects the RDAF’s independent panel had not recommended.” The hypocrisy of Albo and King in relation to the current “sports rorts” affair is astonishing.

Tony, Bayview Heights them of their Australian citizenship? None of these people should be on our streets. Deport them immediately, make our streets safer and save a bucket load of money at the same time. And make sure the door slams firmly behind them on the way out.

Those four men who were arrested in the north in 2016 going to fight with Islamic State and could be released soon. The

Australian Government needs to be very careful. These men are dangerous and hate Australia and its values.

Doug. Our council has a different vision. Who needs more trees when all the wealthy tourists are in the airconditioned cultural precinct watching opera and ballet or strolling through the galleries looking at pretty paintings of palm trees and the Reef. Besides, if you plant more trees those naughty little bats will come back for the free accommodation.

Elise Springett (CP, 17/02). We are not ruining the future of our children. They have every available modcon piece of technology anyone could ever ask for. They don’t know the benefits of walking. Rest assured they will see in 10-20 years time climate change was never a threat to their health, safety or economy. Childhood cancer is on the rise and people are dying and being diagnosed every single day from this health issue and all we hear about is “climate change”. Let’s try “Mother Nature”. Carolyn, Mt Sheridan

One of my favourite kids stories was Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. Very pleased to see it back in children’s hands.

Beth, Kanimbla

Elise (CP, 17/02). Totally support your plea for politicians to address the looming threat to our future generations from climate change. To be addressed we must win over political motivated ignorant self interest.
