- Prime Tour of the Tropics

REGISTRATIONS have opened for the 2020 Prime Tour of the Tropics.

The tour is officially leading the country’s National Road Series (NRS) for the second year in a row.

We are elated that Cairns will feature as the lead act for the NRS again this year, it really puts our destination on the map not only nationally, but globally.

The fact we will also have stage 1, the launch of the event, showcased on the stunning Cairns Esplanade waterfront, is a major step forward for the event as we will be supporting

NICK LOUKAS the local hotels and restaurants like never before.

The five-stage event will put Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands on show for the entire nation to see over three days of sporting and festival activity.

Prime Constructions, the founding naming rights sponsor of the event, is excited to be a part of it all for the third consecutive year.

We think now more than ever Cairns needs some good news on the tourism front. We are delighted to be driving traffic into the city domestically with this event, showcasing Australia’s elite riders and putting on a family-friendly event that supports our local businesses at every turn.

We are incredibly grateful to all of our sponsors who continue to support us and give us the ability to grow this significant event for our region.

Tropical North Queensland is home to some of the most mountainous terrain situated in the heart of the World Heritage rainforest, providing a challenging set of courses over the three days of racing.

Stage one will set the scene for the three days of festivities to kick off on Friday, July 31 as the course is in the heart of the Cairns CBD, overlooking the water, surrounded by sumptuous food at award-winning restaurants, coupled with Australia’s newest 5 star luxurious hotels in the Crystalbrook Collection series.
