Focus all about bouncing back
SOME business operators forced to change the way they trade are being innovative.
Restaurants and cafes are offering takeaway service and home deliveries.
So too are supermarkets, cranking up their home deliveries while they also offer click and collect pick-up services that also involve hardware outlets such as Bunnings.
Some firms offer online services and free home delivery.
Many businesses are unable to reopen and are worried about retaining their loyal customer base.
As the special restrictions extend into months, how do you bring back the customers who have been away for such a long time, especially involving entertainment venues who rely on the disposable dollar?
With many not working, the extra dollars for a beer and a meal would have dried up.
Their customers would have also changed their routines and habits and will wonder if there is any need to visit their local pub or club again when it’s all over.
Brewer Carlton and United Breweries and the Australian Hotels Association has launched For the Love of Your Local campaign, calling on locals to buy a pint of beer online. The cash goes to the venues and then CUB matches that support, pint for pint in donated stock, for when the venue re-opens. The customer gets two for one beers.
Other pubs and clubs are using the downtime to do some renovations when it won’t disrupt trading. It’s a win for local tradies and suppliers and will give venues a fresh look, a bit of a wow factor and a reason for patrons to return and support the business.
Now that’s something to shout about.
