Your emergency checklist

When there’s an emergency, you don’t need to go crazy buying groceries.

But there are a few items you should have on hand to help make any possible quarantine period easier on you and your family.

Check your pantry to see if you already have these items before going out to buy more so you avoid waste and excess buying.

It’s better to have the basics so you can make many dishes from scratch, rather than buy things in a panic and leave others without. mince recipe is quick to make and great for nights on the run.

½ cup hazelnuts ground 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

cup Ferrero Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread

125g butter melted

Combine all ingredient­s, except Nutella.

Press into a slice tin.

Bake at 180C for 15 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes.

Spread with Nutella.

Bake for a further 10 minutes. 500g beef mince

500g macaroni

2 onion diced

850g can condensed tomato soup

250g smoked bacon, diced 400g canned diced tomatoes

600g tasty cheese grated 1 capsicum diced
