HOMESCHOOL REPORT

- ELLA TRAVERS, 4B, GOOD COUNSEL PRIMARY SCHOOL, INNISFAIL

HOMESCHOOLING life has some good things about it and some not so good things about it.

I have just done my first week of school at home.

There has been some good things about being at home for school.

It has been good because I can sleep in and I don’t have to get out of my pyjamas so I am comfortable all day long.

Lunchtime is really weird. I mean it is good because Mum makes me a sandwich when I feel like it.

It is not made early in the morning and in my lunch box for half a day.

My strawberries also don’t go all yuck because I can just get them straight out of the fridge.

It is weird because I don’t get to play with my friends.

It is really boring actually because Mum makes my lunch and then races back to her work. My sister is doing her school stuff and has different lunchtimes to me.

There are some bad things about schooling from home. Some of the tasks are tricky and my Mum is busy so when I ask her she says “just a minute” and my sister is always on Zoom.

It is really annoying because you just want to get it done.

When you are at school, the teacher can help you with the tasks and tell you how to do it.

The worst bits of being at home is that you don’t get to see all your friends and you don’t get to play with them at lunchtime.

And when you have a nice teacher you miss seeing them, and them helping you.

Last year, and even at the start of this year, I always could not wait to stay home but now I can’t wait to go back to school.

I’m even missing my principal’s bad jokes.

I know it is safer and better if we all stay home because of the virus and if my Pop got it he could get really sick, but I can’t wait to go back to school.
