On coronavirus
It’s easy for these right wing science protesters to make baseless statements about our doctors and scientists, but their remarks are about as meaningful as Trump’s absurd statement to inject disinfectants as a possible treatment for coronavirus. Some of their claims like COVID-19 is only a winter virus and computer models are responsible for economic collapse, is why these people have lost all credibility in the political arena in this country.

When the politicians change the tax system to pay for the COVID-19 crisis I hope they ensure a fairer system that gives a break to the pay as you earn taxpayer and makes sure the multinationals pay (something at least).

The ugliest character to emerge in this health non crisis has been the neighbourhood dobber. The “pandemic that wasn’t” has revealed the erosion of our national mateship standards. Those who have told on someone for a perceived infraction of non-legal “laws” for a health “emergency” that left nurses bored should be ashamed of themselves. Second ugliest were the TV talking heads glorying in the idea of piles of dead Aussies.

Wait, what? “Travel can be no further than 50km from home …” (CP, 27/04). So Fishery Falls residents can visit Cairns but Babinda folk cannot. Rules based on illogical and inconsistent guesswork deserve to be ridiculed and ignored — as do those who make them.
