On coronavirus
Peter Dutton is calling for an investigation into China’s part in COVID-19. Can we also have an inquiry into how the cruise ship Ruby Princess was allowed to dock in Sydney Harbour? A department he is in charge of, it resulted in hundreds of coronavirus infections and more than 20 deaths, that we know of. Peter Dutton as head of Border Force should be held accountable. Given his department has children born in Australia locked up in a Christmas Island detention centre. Democrat, Cairns
Counting high cost of Chinese whispers (CP, 29/04). So now we learn that at least 190,000 lives and up to a billion COVID-19 infections could have been averted if the Chinese Communist Party had come clean about the disease at the start. Not to mention the economic loss or the impact on our society. It’s time to indict the Chinese leaders for this “crime against humanity”. It’s time for the Australian Government to demand reparations. It’s time we seized all Chinese assets.

The Chinese virus has cost Aussies and small businesses $60 billion (CP, 29/04). The costs to big business and government would be much higher. China must be sued for reparations and punitive damages. We may need to replace all our China-apologist politicians to get this done.

GTS (CP, 29/04), everyone knew, well before COVID-19, never to trust Chinese Communist Party “facts”. Anyone with sense knew not to trust the ‘very stable genius’. Instead of crashing our economy, the government should have had a lockup quarantine of new arrivals months ago. Sean McGinn, Clifton Beach
“Zero new cases again” (CP, 29/04). So why are we still in lockdown? “Flattening the curve” doesn’t reduce the deaths — it only spreads them out over a longer time. But this bug has fizzled out in the Australian climate. End the lockdown, Premier; or stand down so someone else can.

How sad that a JCU staffer has joined the pile-on against hydroxychloroquine (CP, 29/04). The entire US media-Democrat left are against it because President Trump likes it. It’s no surprise this dangerous political groupthink has spread here. The study the JCU “expert” is likely quoting tested hydroxychloroquine in isolation, not in combination with azithromycin and zinc, as it’s supposed to be administered.
