On coronavirus
Ric of Brinsmead. Health experts are against hydroxychloroquine to battle COVID-19. It simply doesn’t work and is toxic to some. Joanne of Manunda. Countries which “flattened the curve” suffered less than countries who dithered. Compare us to USA, UK. Can local backyard COVID-19 experts please listen to CMOs. They have the facts while you speculate with hearsay.
Trevor, Park Ridge
Democrat (CP, 30/04). There already is an investigation into Ruby Princess, which started roughly a couple of weeks ago.

Rules for us, rules for them. So State Government (Labor) has relaxed rules for house arrest just in time for Labour Day long weekend but not one week earlier for Anzac Day. We will remember them. Don, Earlville
The 50km driving limit is a joke. From my address in Earlville to Port Douglas is 70km and I’m sure the police will be checking the same. I can’t even go on Sunday for my favourite burger.

Alan Benn (CP, 29/04). You must be aware that teachers were at school the week before the holidays training for online delivery, you must be aware that we worked through the holidays to prepare suitable lessons, you must be aware that we have been at school doing our jobs under extraordinary circumstances, with students who need to attend for the past two weeks.

Hurry up and open. The message from TV and radio jocks to cafes and restaurants. Just imagine the pain they have had to endure during closures. Cook own breakfast. Cook own lunch. Cook own dinner. Serve it to yourself. Clean up after. Worst still having to pay for the ingredients. Shocker.
Tony, Cairns
Democrat. The Ruby Princess was under
NSW government control. Federal Government had nothing to do with it.
Bill, Mooroobool
All the COVID-19 projections were wrong because all the assumptions they were based on were wrong. But we’re still in lockdown because the people who were wrong said so? Nup. Doesn’t pass the pub test. It’s time to ignore these “experts at being wrong”.
Woz, Parramatta Park
All it took for people to give up their freedom was a virus with a 99.87% survival rate. The asleep are afraid of a Chinese flu: the awake are afraid of their government.
