Cassowary deaths. (CP, 21/05). The obvious solution to the death of cassowaries on the Kuranda Range road is to ensure each vehicle is proceeded by a person on foot waving a red flag. Problem solved. The green socialist left alternatives seem draconian and very old school.

Rick, Redlynch (CP, 21/05) Kevin, Brinsmead. You are still too young as I was going to school in the 1940s across the road from the library. No flying foxes (not bats) in the CBD. You stated they were in the suburbs, not the CBD, but you do not want them back around your property. Well the greater number of people do not want them in the CBD. You have our permission to do as you suggested. Eradicate them if you do not want them back. Senior local, CBD

Animal rights group PETA wants Dundee’s

at the Aquarium to stop serving fish meals because the fish in the aquarium tanks can see their brethren being torn apart. What stupidity. I think PETA should be advised that we have a mental health unit here in Cairns and they should pay it a visit.

Big Bill, Cairns City

Warren Entsch has really jumped the shark this time (CP, 21/05). There’s no Wuhan flu on Cape York and not much anywhere else in Queensland either. But Entschy wants to be the big boss of everyone, completely forgetting he’s there to represent the people, not to rule them. Just go, Entsch. Your arrogance is just too much for grieving families to bear.

Re: Ryan Hill. Surely I am not the only person who is sick of seeing this lad make front page, headlining news? I understand we’re all staying home (mostly) but I would rather watch the tide come in over the mud flats than have to see another article highlighting his obscene, illicit lifestyle. Please let anything else be on the cover today.

Lorraine, Edge Hill

Lee Williams re: ABC (CP, 21/05) As usual, the ABC lovies ignore the fact that every taxpayer is forced to pay for the ABC. Commercial media is voluntary paid for by the viewers/listeners. If the left wants to start its own commercial media, go for it. Just don’t ask the taxpayer to fund it. Andy, Gordonvale
