Vaccine debate goes on
THE debate about vaccinations, in particular for COVID-19, has morphed into the usual polarised discussion. My expert is right, yours is wrong. Your media say this but my media say the opposite. And on and on, much like the polarisation concerning global warming that morphed into “climate change”.
The Cairns Post editorial (20/05) notes the critical need to return to a form of normality for all our sakes but adds: “it’s not to say this situation can’t or won’t change. Until a vaccine is discovered, that’s what we’re living with”.
I for one have no confidence that an effective vaccine for this virus will be available for at least several years. All the numerous past attempts have failed.
Before I agree to another vaccination, I require credible independent experts to provide full specifications of the vaccine, the sources of all components and the results of thorough testing. I expect no less from our governments.
