On a sad note two of our club stalwarts were injured in a car accident on their way home last week. Everyone at the Royal Millaa Millaa wish Chrissie Payze and Carol Howard a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you both back on the course soon.

Today was the Millaa Millaa Hotel and Mungalli Dairy monthly medal thanks to these wonderful sponsors and I see that Mungalli have their new bottling plant up and running.

Anyway today’s winner of the voucher and the seven points was the flying Scotsman Graham Murray with an impressive 78 off the stick giving him a 68 nett, pretty good after his 70 nett last week.

Second and third came down to my favourite thing, a countback and this one, between Justin Cifuentes and David Welch, went to the third round before Justin was given second prize and the five points. Sorry David, but well played anyway.

The nearest to the pins winners were David Welch for 1/10, Rohan Groves second shot on 8/17 was a winner, Graham Murray thought he had 5/14 wrapped up but Alicia English pipped him by a couple of inches, Alicia also was the second shot winner on 6/15.

Charlie McKean will regret not being at the club today as his number 45 came out in the members draw, the weekly raffle draws went to Geoff Errey and Graham Suffield.

Next week is the first round of the Club Championships. It is a stroke event and is sponsored by the Malanda Pharmacy, so as a championship all players must start on number one, which means be early everyone, 8.30 would be great.
