Drugs charges for quiz master

K-Star Trivia host to face court after police raids allegedly find drugs

A PORT Douglas trivia host will answer questions of a different kind later this year when he faces court on a string of drug-related charges.

Kevin Aldridge, who runs the K-Star Trivia nights twice a week at two separate Macrossan St pubs, has been charged with 52 offences including trafficking and 47 counts of supply.

The 44-year-old’s Craven Close residence was earlier this month raided by local police, who allegedly found a large number of itemised bags of cannabis, along with drug utensils and cash.

An investigation was launched and the Port Douglas man, who also conducts walking tours of the town, was charged on Monday.

Far North police acting Inspector Glen De Lai said the trafficking charge came about after police seized several items from his residence during their initial raid on June 3.

He said police would always operate “proactively” in these types of incident.

“Offenders will never know when police are going to knock on their door,” he said.

“Disrupting this sort of behaviour in small towns is particularly important, especially with the devastation drug use causes many families.”

Police will allege Mr Aldridge was involved in trafficking around the local area for an extended period.

He is scheduled to appear at Mossman Magistrates Court on September 30.
