On other matters
Woz. Unions have been the saviour of workers’ pay and conditions in Australia. Be it unions, associations, alliances, organisations, leagues, guilds, consortiums they all represent their members for the same cause. From unskilled to skilled, professional, business, public and private service industries. Our democracy and standard of living hangs in the balance and on the back of their strength and survival.

Why don’t we name and shame all these young grubs that steal cars and rob people, put their names and photos in the paper and ban them from public transport? One strike — out.

A lot of people are wondering why our Premier isn’t giving business a light at the end of the tunnel? It’s because we have a Labor government and they don’t give a hoot about small business. They are probably laughing and thinking of other ways to sink the boot in.

So there is a second wave of COVID-19 in Victoria roughly two weeks after the BLM rally. Are the two connected?

Does it not make sense to have police officers ride around on buses, particularly on routes that are known to have youth running amok? Why is everything so difficult for our stupid political leaders?

The council spends $10 million to remove roundabouts on Florence Street to make it safer for cyclists. Now they’re spending $600,000 to build a roundabout on Upward Street to make it safer for cyclists. The hypocrisy continues.

Lefties are cracking the sads about cuts to their ABC (CP, 25/06). The ABC is an extreme green-left agitprop bureau. I call it Alinsky’s Bolshevik Collective. If we actually needed a public broadcaster, and we don’t, its budget should be slashed by half as it only ever tells half the story. Let’s just shut it down and build a new major hospital each year instead.

Albo’s “energy olive branch” is just a repackaging of the same old anti-fossil fuel myths. There is no need to limit carbon dioxide. CO2 has no measurable effect on temperature. Left-wing CO2 science isn’t “settled” — it’s flat-out wrong. A vote for Albo’s Labor is a vote for expensive electricity with frequent lengthy blackouts. Ric, Brinsmead
Barry Braes. Every coal-fired power station in Australia was built with taxpayer dollars. They also attract massive taxpayer pollution subsidies. If Barry wants to talk subsidies, he should include the massive fossil fuel subsidies too.
