What happened to the LNP’s full page adverts demanding that the borders be reopened?

Les, Bungalow

Bicycle safety in Cairns - a lot written about it. Riders wearing dark clothes and have no lights on bicycles at night while riding. Make hi-vis vests compulsory. Mark, Westcourt

Retiree and M.G.B (CP, 07/07). If need be, would either of you pay a subscription fee to the Australian taxpayers to get the ABC service?

Bazza, Mareeba

I sincerely thank the person who handed my handbag in at DFO this morning. Your honesty is greatly appreciated.

Margaret Lenegan, Brinsmead

“State urged to take in more international arrivals” (CP, 07/07). Hang on, didn’t the

PM urge overseas travellers back in March to “come home before it’s too late”? More proof that most people don’t believe COVID-19 to be the problem governments like to think it is.

Joanne, Manunda (CP, 07/07). How lovely the feminine and classy outfit worn by Jade Eggins and created by Sonlia Fashions. Just expressing my pleasure.

Jo, Atherton

Animals are not welcome? Patrick Hopper raises some very interesting issues regarding pets in his letter and public health. There are a number of eateries in the CBD who advertise themselves as “pet friendly” and I assume here predominantly dog friendly, while as we all know the CBD is a “dog-free zone”. What action will health officers and the council be taking? Any?

Rick, Redlynch

Not a bad example of humans beginning to co exist with Australian native wildlife, with so far successful relocation of CBD bats. Much better than the Katter mob solution to murder them all.

Rex, Edmonton

The LNP’s six-point youth crime plan (CP, 07/07) is a step in the right direction. Criminals must be punished, regardless of age or the rule of law breaks down. Well done, LNP. (I was a Labor man until Rudd and Gillard)

Woz, Parramatta Park

What’s the best thing about winter in FNQ? I can spend hours in my garden tending to my home grown tomatoes, capsicum, lettuce and cucumbers. Yum.

Beth, Kanimbla

Why wasn’t the alleged perpetrator of the attempted rape at Wangetti Beach remanded in custody? This is not good enough. Girls and women deserve to be protected.
