Brothers Edmonton Bowls Club resumes Social bowls as from Wednesday, July 8. Coming events: Today Men’s Self Select Triples, cash prize plus Jackpot visitors welcome. Nominations close 11.30am for play at 12.30pm phone office on 4055 5344 and leave a message. Saturday, July 11, Mixed Triples club select Skips pick a card cash prizes plus Jackpot visitors welcome. Nomination sheet in Fuller Sports Club foyer or phone office on 4055 5344 and leave a message. Please supply your own refreshments and water container.

The club will be operating on the Government’s COVID-Safe Operating Plan and Procedures.

Ladies Social Bowls:

Thursday, July 9 the ladies will start Club Championship Singles. It is great to be back. No Edge Hill members were affected by COVID-19 symptoms in the break.

Men’s Mixed Social Bowls: Saturday saw a return to official social bowls with the winners being Geoff Royle-Ian Stafford. R/U: Peter RyanBarry Bolton. L/C: Kim Mitchell-Darren Curry. Tuesday, July 7 will resume competition at 1pm and we see a return to Tuesday night bowls followed by Wednesday night Selected Triples.

Men’s Club Championships A Club singles matches see P. Lee v C. Kelly, J Straatsma v S Henson with H Mitchell v D Spowart to play and winner to play D Curry, B Club Singles sees J. Parker v P. Chamberlain and B. Moseley v A. Paraha. Club Pairs and Club Fours can now resume.

Burkin Svendsens sponsored triples will be rescheduled soon.

A decision by TFNQDBA regarding if a pennant season will be played and what format, will be made shortly. Get bowling at Edge Hill again on Tuesday at 1pm, with Tuesday and Wednesday night at 7pm. The Edge Hill Club is currently opening TuesdayThursday 3pm-9pm, Friday and Saturday from noon. Sunday opening soon.

Meals served in the Bistro nightly but please make a booking.

LADIES: Our AGM will be on August 26, 2020 at 11am. All positions will be declared vacant, nomination forms are up on the board if you wish to stand for any position please attend. As you all know that due to the COVID-19 we had to postpone the drawing of our raffle. If any ladies have tickets sold or unsold could you please return them ASAP so we can do the draw.

As from July 13 we will be able to have more bowlers back out on the rinks.

If you wish to have a game please put your name on list outside on the board.

Our president John Frisch has advised we will be resuming Monday afternoon social mixed bowls starting on Monday, July 13 with cards being drawn at 1.15pm and the game starting at 1.30pm and ending at 4.30pm as usual.

The game will be played at this early stage with no afternoon tea being provided and no raffles conducted until further notice.

Only member charge to be collected will be the green fee. Players are encouraged to bring their own afternoon tea until further notice.

Dress will be bowls attire and any visitors and all our current members are welcome to return to West Cairns Bowls Club.
