Artist faces assault trial
SYDNEY street artist Anthony Lister will face trial charged with drugging and sexually assaulting young women after allegedly luring them in with promises of a path into the art world.
The artist’s lawyer Bryan Wrench told Downing Centre Local Court the case against Lister was going to trial after a short negotiation with police prosecutors. Lister previously vowed to fight the charges that followed a police raid on his Marrickville home and industrial space in March.
The case was set down to return to court on August 6.
He remains on bail.
