Bill (CP 25/7). I’ve watched enough parliament to know that independents are less damaging than party politicians. Independents actually represent their voters while party pollies represent party backroom people. Parties push through laws which damage the voters. Too many laws and too much regulation is destroying our prosperity.

Vikki Campion (CP, 25/7) exemplifies the resilience of young Aussie women from regional areas. She’s no snowflake and it’s terrific to see the snarling lefties haven’t crushed her spirit. More please. Joanne, Manunda

Vikki Campion. There are a lot of single working mothers like me doing it tougher than you. So stop grandstanding in the media about motherhood.

Councillors are calling for a review of the CBD masterplan. So, why are they wasting $28 million on the Esplanade precinct?

Walkamin’s Mt Emerald wind-toelectricity factory’s output crashed to zero last Monday 20/07 and as at Sunday 26/07 was still zero. Tell us again about that “clean energy future”?

Re: Jo at Clifton. Similar problems at Kewarra . Owners blatantly ignore “Dogs on leash only” signs. Woman allowed her three off-leash dogs to hassle our onleash dog. We were subjected to her “beach rage” because ours snapped in fright. No one “owns“the beach. The council needs to clamp down.

Linda, Kewarra

Fantastic. Many Cairns drivers have no idea of roundabout rules so Cairns Regional Council is painting markings on them (CP 25/07) to lure cyclists into the traffic. That won’t create any extra problems, right?
