PARCELS of land are selling like hot cakes at a highly sought after residential estate near the Cairns CBD.

In the heart of Earlville, Enclave is an Urbex development and offers 59 allotments spanning up to 830sq m.

To date, 30 allotments have now either sold or are under contract and there are three fully constructed homes and a further two underway.

Sales at the estate have spiked in recent months due to the combination of government stimulus packages and an increase in sales in the region.

Urbex Realty general manager Craig Covacich said it had given a much needed adrenaline boost for consumer sentiment in Cairns.

Along with the State First Home Owner’s grant of $15,000 and the Federal HomeBuilder grant of $25,000, Cairns residents also have access to an added $5000 Regional Home Builder boost.

Mr Covacich said the increase in sales volumes was a great sign for the region.

“We are experiencing the strongest market in more than 24 months, contracting in excess of 20 allotments since June (at Enclave),” he said.

“During a pandemic, that’s outstanding.”

Cairns hospitality worker Jasmine Barnes is one buyer to have taken advantage of the latest government grants and bought a house and land package at Enclave.

The 19-year-old said she had been saving her money for several years.

“I had money saved up from working two jobs, but I wasn’t too sure what to do with it, so I just held onto it,” she said.

“When the government started announcing the grants, I jumped at the opportunity and began looking.

“I wanted to purchase within proximity to the CBD, but also live in a peaceful area and Enclave ticked all those boxes.”

Enclave has 29 blocks remaining, with unprecedented inquiry coming through the doors. Interested home buyers are encouraged to get in touch or register their interest.
