A beautiful spring day greeted those who turned out for the Millaa Millaa Hotel-sponsored “Fathers Day “2 ball ambrose Father/Son or Daughter Event. This day is a favourite with families (Not, I hope just for the goodies from The Millaa Millaa Hotel) and today was no exception, with over 20 players in attendance. Now while not everybody were father/son or daughter it was played in the right spirit and everyone enjoyed themselves.

The clear winner with an impressive 75 to give them 64 1/4 net was the team of Marg Azar and

Alan Hapgood, well played especially that putt on 3/12 Marg.

Of course it wouldn’t be a club day without a countback and this week for second place the father and son team of Warrick and Aaron Howwarth came through with a 72 for a 66 1/4 over the other tied team of Justin Cifuentes and Paul Foster who had a 69 for their net of 66 1/4 and of course third place.

Nearest to the pins this week were won by Graham Murray on 1/10, Ray Marsh took the prize with his wonderful shot on 5/14, the second shot NTP on 3/12 was a bit elusive but finally Warrick Howwarth nailed it.

The club draws this week were won by Graham Murray and Marg Azar who both stuck a $10 note in their kick, Lee Heidkes name was drawn out in the members draw but sadly he wasn’t there today.

Next week is the monthly medal sponsored by Mungalli Dairy Products and Millaa Millaa Hotel, 9 for 9.30 see ya there.

Just News: Club shirts, a subject of much discussion over the past six months, well a final meeting between Marg and our main sponsor for the shirts Mungalli Dairy Products have finally got things sorted, well done to all concerned these jobs are never easy.

The blue lines restricting buggies around the greens are in place although the (accidentally) one left on 5/14 questions the painters sobriety. Two more temporary rules from Richmond G.C. in 1940.

No. 4. Shrapnel and/ or bomb splinterson the fairways or in bunkers within a clubs length of a ball may be moved without penalty, and no penalty shall be incurred if a ball is thereby caused to move by accident.

No 5. A ball moved by enemy action may be replaced, or if a ball is lost or destroyed another may be dropped not nearer the hole without penalty.

Another close contest for the September Monthly Medal with Shane Soper edging out Dave Casells on a count back.

Next Sunday will be a Stableford for a club trophy. Register by 9 for a 9.30 start.

Good luck to junior member Prudence Wright who is playing in Cairns this week for the Peninsula Team.

Once again, thank you to the local community for your ongoing support and for the volunteers who make our little club the best it can be.

C u @ the 19th.
