Arrest over car thefts

POLICE have charged a Woree woman over car thefts at Manunda and Yorkeys Knob.

It is alleged the 18-year-old was with a group of youths who forced entry into a Manunda home on August 24 and stole car keys, phones and other property before stealing a hatchback. The group allegedly drove the vehicle to Yorkeys Knob where further burglaries and car thefts were committed. The woman was charged with two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicles, and single counts of burglary, stealing, evading a cab fare and possession of a drug utensil and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Courts on December 11. Seven people aged between 14 and 18 have now been charged in relation to the incidents.
