FOR SOMEONE TO COME ON TO OUR PROPERTY … IT’S A BREACH OF PRIVACY

A REDLYNCH family is fuming after vandals broke into their yard and trashed a children’s playground and a beloved treehouse.

Jade Turnbull said the tags and damage were spotted on Tuesday and she believed the offenders struck 24 hours earlier, possibly overnight on Monday.

Among the damage are various obscene phrases including “Max got cheesy d***”.

Ms Turnbull said the property belonged to her parents and her father Mark had hand built the treehouse for his grandchildren years ago, making the damage more heartbreaking.

She said her brother’s children Larah, 13, Ethan, 12, and Chelsea, 8, had seen the damage and were furious.

“They’re all disappointed, it’s really sad,” she said.

“That cubby was special because dad built it from scratch.

“It’s hard work to be able to afford the playground.

“For someone to come on to our property … it’s a breach of privacy.”

Trinity Anglican School year 3 student Chelsea is due to have her ninth birthday at the house and playground next month.

She said she was angry about the damage.

“I thought it definitely doesn’t suit the playground

and it’s not appropriate,” she said. “(I would say to the offenders) never come onto our property again because it’s our personal stuff.”

The colourful playground is recognised within the Redlynch community, not just those in the Rocks Rd area where they live, but others who drive in the area as it can be seen from Redlynch Intake Road.

Ms Turnbull said the family’s friendly malamute dog was barking late on Monday night, but nothing seemed untoward.

She posted images of the graffiti to social media pages on Tuesday.

Ms Turnbull said she hoped someone might recognise the tags and knew who was responsible.

She said some of the other words written included Max, Scott, NHS, Chris and Singo.

“We’re hoping someone else has seen the same names (on other graffiti),” Ms Turnbull said.

“It’s majorly disappointing knowing someone was in our property.”

She said the family had reported the matter to police.
