AMID the chaos of 2020, Marino Lawyers’ staff have reached many milestones worthy of celebratio­n. Partner Charlie Marino has celebrated 35 years in practice, while consultant Christine Ross has celebrated her 10th year of service with Marino Lawyers.

In recognitio­n of her efforts and commitment to the firm, Maree Mazur has been appointed to associate, joining fellow associate Latisha Cali.

“Marino Lawyers has always encouraged junior staff to progress their careers and I am happy to help pave the way for their futures. At Marino Lawyers we recognise the hard work and dedication of our team members and such commitment should be rewarded” Mr Marino said.

Maree started her legal career in 2002 and has been with Marino Lawyers for three years. She also holds a degree in business.

Both Latisha and Maree have climbed the corporate ladder, starting their careers as legal secretarie­s while completing their legal education at James Cook University, Cairns and the College of Law, Brisbane.

Latisha has been working in the legal industry since 2005 and joined Marino Lawyers seven years ago.

her clients in a way other lawyers may not. This is particular­ly important for our south side farming clients. Maree on the other hand is a Cairns local with strong family ties to the area. Her bilingual skills have minimised language barriers for our clients, allowing for better access to advice and justice”.

While Latisha operates from the Edmonton office, she also attends the Cairns and Babinda offices as well as servicing clients in the Cassowary Coast area. Her primary areas of practice are property, leasing and commercial law and she is experience­d with wills and estates.

Maree is currently practising in wills and estate law and is based in the Cairns office. She also services the northern surrounds and works from the Port Douglas office. Her background also includes property, leasing and commercial work.

Marino Lawyers was establishe­d in 1988 and continues to service families and businesses in the Far North region.
