Saturday 24th October Pennant games will be played at Edge Hill therefore no social bowls will be played. Division Two Section One will have Edge Hill playing Edmonton while Section Two will see Edge Hill playing Innisfail/ Babinda in the final game of the section at Edge Hill. A win by either club will see the winner play off in the final next Saturday 31st October at 9am against Section Two winner. The loser will play Section Three winner in the afternoon. Sunday 1st November will have Saturday’s winner play Section Three to decide the Pennant winner. These games will be played at a neutral venue. Saturday 17 October: Round 5 of the Pennants continued at Gordonvale playing 2 teams from Silkwood,against 2 teams from Gordonvale/ Cairns.Lady Luck was not on our side although Team Morris Pedrola won their game, but Team Dan Dunn lost by just one shot. Gordonvale total 45 shots and Silkwood 44 shots ,but we are proud of you how well you have done.

TFNQDLBA Presentation Day: Runner Up Champions of Champions were our two girls from Silkwood. Congratulations to Denise Charman and Lee Mayell. So well done. The winner of the Singles was Denise Charman. Can it get any better?

Sunday 18 October: 48 bowlers from Tully, Innisfail, South Johnstone, Babinda, Edmonton and Silkwood competed in the mixed tripple money game. Congratulation to all contestants, but team 3 from Silkwood Denise Charman ,Bryan Meyers and Len Charman were the winners. Team M. O’Halloran, K O’Halloran and A.Windsor came second. The third prize went to K Foord, M. Roots and L Hoskin.

Sunday afternoon we had 9 bowlers enjoy a game of triples and killer singles, with Angry Ollson taking home the bragging rights for the day.

WEST CAIRNS TPI

Under ideal conditions we had 20 bowlers on the West Cairns Bowls Club green last Monday. After three hours of bowls commencing at 1.30pm the winning team was selected as Wally Smith, David Nicholls, and Tony Simao. The game is conducted in a friendly non competitive manner with all the bowlers enjoying themselves. The procedure we follow is the cards are called at 1.15pm and the game concludes at 4.30pm with an afternoon tea break provided We encourage bowlers to contact our selector Rosemary on 0409624623 before to ensure they are included in the game. Suggested dress is bowls attire if available but it should be noted that the green is covered so there is no problem with the weather. Could all current members ensure they are TPI Club financial this year to ensure they can attend the Christmas function in December.
