Rich-lister launches prestige beach estate
THE first prestige land release in 15 years at Port Douglas has been officially unlocked by one of Queensland’s richest developers.
The Seymour Group, owned by Kevin Seymour (right) whose family has amassed an estimated $700m fortune, has been completed next to Four Mile Beach with 15 freehold lots currently selling for between $455,000 and $1.4m.
Seymour Group senior director Daniel Farquar said a power of work had gone into completing the The Beach Estate in anticipation for a “new wave of growth” at Port Douglas.
“With winter around the corner, demand is really picking up as the penny drops,” he said. “You just can’t find vacant land in Port Douglas – particularly without body corporates.”
The Langley Road estate has been raised by up to a metre and extensively landscaped with over 25 new trees and an abundance of shrubbery planted.
It also features a high-class cobblestone driveway flanked by mature palms and a brass and stone entrance statement.
Mr Farquar said four of the lots had already been purchased.
“It’s been 15 years since Port Douglas has last seen a prestige land release,” he said,
“The Seymour Group made sure to do it justice.”
The Seymour Group bought the vacant 11830sq m block in 2019 for $2.7m. The four beach-facing lots are expected to sell for a combined total of $5.6m.
The estate – the site of the failed Whispering Palms resort abandoned in 2003 – is just 80m from the sands of Four Mile Beach and minutes to the CBD.
