ON Monday, July 19, Prep and Year 1 students celebrated their 100th day of learning at OLHOC by doing some fun and exciting activities about the number 100.

Some of the Preps came to school wearing T-shirts with 100 gems or stickers and even Band-aids!

First, they made crowns saying “100 days” and coloured them in.

Then the Year 1s mixed up their classes and did five rotations of half an hour each.

The Preps stayed in their classes but changed classrooms and did three rotations.

Preps did a gumball machine painting activity with their fingers and Year 1 did the same but Year 1 did it with cotton buds. They had to paint 10 balls with 10 colours.

Another activity was to use 100 paper cups to build a tower or fort.

They drew a picture of themselves and what they thought they might look like in 100 years. Year 1 also did a little poem about 100 things they could carry and 100 things they couldn’t.

Year 1 did a scavenger hunt and had to find 10 lots of 10 objects. The final rotation was to do 10 x 10 exercises such as star jumps and squats.

After they finished the rotations, Preps got to eat a special cake and were presented with a 100-days-oflearning certificate from the principal, Lucas Felstead.

Prep students also used their bodies to make the number 100. Prep C made the one, Prep G made one of the zeros and Prep P made the second zero. Prep G teacher Kate Backhouse took the photo from the balcony.

“It felt really good to do the 100days-of-learning celebration. The activities were amazing and super fun,” said Zoe Zervos and Lamana Mast (Year 1).
