AS we look forward to celebrating with family and friends this Christmas, now is the time to look at snapping up all your gift and stocking stuffers in the Black Friday sales.

According to Far North retailers, there are bargains galore.

Cairns Central centre manager Christie-Lee Jackson said savvy shoppers should start their festive season shopping soon.

“Christmas is fast approaching, so the Black Friday sales are the perfect time to tick off your shopping list while bagging some bargains,” she said.

“We are expecting many customers planning to get their Christmas shopping done early or simply enjoy the sales and treat themselves to some retail therapy.

“It’s also a great way to get into the festive spirit; the centre is packed with Christmas decorations and activities for everyone in the family to enjoy.”

DFO Cairns centre manager Mark Farquhar said Black Friday was the ideal time to start snapping up gifts to put under the tree.

“This weekend the annual Black Friday sale is taking over DFO Cairns so you can grab all your Christmas presents at a bargain price,” he said.

“As if a huge weekend of discounts isn’t good enough, next week, from Wednesday, December 1 shoppers can go into the draw to win a $500 DFO Cairns gift card each day until Christmas Eve.”

Mr Farquhar said DFO Cairns had 24 $500 gift cards up for grabs this Christmas, when customers spent $100 or more in one day at participating retailers.

To help get the best out of your Christmas shopping, make sure you: Make a list; set a realistic budget; and shop local to avoid postal/ supply delays.
