1421 HENRY VI King of England
Henry VI was King of England from 1422 until 1461 and again from 1470 to 1471. He assumed the English throne at the age of nine months after the death of his father. He is the only English monarch to also be King of France.
1890 DION FORTUNE British occultist
Fortune was the co-founder of the Fraternity of the Inner Light, an occult organisation that promoted philosophies she claimed had been taught to her by spiritual entities known as the Ascended Masters. She wrote seven novels espousing occult themes.
1900 AGNES MOOREHEAD American actor
Moorehead is best known for her role as Endora in the television series Bewitched. But she also had roles in notable films includingCitizen Kane, All That Heaven Allows and Show Boat. Moorehead received four Academy Award nominations.
1971 RICHARD KRAJICEK Dutch tennis player
Krajicek is the only Dutch player to have won a Grand Slam singles title, winning the Wimbledon crown in 1996. He defeated Pete Sampras in the semi-finals.
1977 ANDREW FLINTOFF English cricketer
A genuine all-rounder, Flintoff was a fast bowler, middle-order batsman and specialist slips fielder. He made his Test debut in 1998 and played a total 79 Test matches for England and 141 ODIs. He scored 3845 Test runs.
1979 TIM CAHILL Australian footballer
Cahill was signed by Millwall after leaving Sydney to play professionally in England in 1997. He played a central role in Millwall’s run to the 2004 FA Cup Final. Cahill later transferred to Everton. he is the leading goalscorer for the Australian national team.
1982 ALBERTO CONTADOR Spanish cyclist
Contador won the Tour de France twice, tasting victory in 2007 and again in 2009. He also won the Gira d’Italia twice and the Vuelta a Espana three times. Contador is one of only seven riders to have won all three Grand Tours of cycling.
