German Nazi party leader
Goering was one of the most powerful figures in the Nazi Party, which ruled Germany from 1933 until 1945. He was convicted of conspiracy, crimes against peace, war crimes and crimes against humanity at the Nuremberg trials. He suicided before being hanged.
1910 LUISE RAINER
German-American actor Rainer was the first actor to win multiple Academy Awards, Her first American role was in the 1935 film Escapade. Rainer won Oscars for her next two performances in The Great Ziegfeld and The Good Earth.
1916 P.W. BOTHA South African President
Botha served as the last prime minister of South Africa from 1978 to 1984 and then as the first executive state president of South African from 1984 until 1989. He was an outspoken opponent of black majority rule.
1944 JOE FRAZIER American boxer
As an amateur, Frazer won a gold medal at the 1964 Olympic Games. As a professional, he was the first boxer to beat Muhammad Ali and reigned as the undisputed heavyweight champion from 1970 until 1973.
