HOW TO BET ON THE

-

WIN

THE simplest bet type is also the most popular. Back a horse to win the race and, if it crosses first, you’re a winner.

PLACE

IF you like a runner at big odds, or want to bet more conservatively, then the place bet may be the best option for you. Simply wager on a horse to finish in the top three, and if it does, you collect. It does not matter if the horse wins, runs second or third. Unlike the win bet, this gives you three times as many chances of a return, but the payout is not as generous as a win bet.

EACH-WAY

HAVING an each way bet is having your bet spilt equally between a win and place bet. If you have $10 each-way, it will cost you $20 as $10 is placed on the win and $10 is put on the place. If you bet on a horse paying $5 for the win and $2 the place and it wins, you’ll get $70 as you collect on both your win and place bet. If the horse runs second or third, you collect $20 as only the place component of the bet is paid.

TRIFECTA

THE trifecta requires you to select the runners that will finish first, second and third in the correct finishing order. If you “box” your selections, they can finish first, second and third in any order. Flexi betting is available so punters can choose the amount they want to bet and receive a percentage of the dividend if they are successful.

FIRST 4

THE First 4 requires you to select the first, second, third and fourth placegetters in the correct finishing order. You can choose a box First 4, in which four horses you select can finish in any order.

QUADDIE

TO win a Quaddie you need to select the winners of four consecutive nominated races. You can select any number of possible winners in each leg and the cost is calculated by the number of horses selected in each race. The Quaddie is the team sport of racing, so get your mates together and enjoy a

Quaddie. Check the form guide to see the Quaddie legs.
