BENTLEY CELEBRATES
BENTLEY Park College hosted a celebration of 25 years at their fete after school on Friday, October 21.
Over the course of the evening there was an opening ceremony with cake, student and teacher performances, stalls, rides and fireworks finale.
The night was full of fun, rain and excitement. The celebration was prepared and planned by the P&C, and supported by more than 4000 students, staff and families.
The opening ceremony was hosted by the college principal Bruce Houghton, and featured special guests foundation P&C president Margaret Leary, current P&C president Lionel Brooks and traditional owner Neville Reys.
They cut an amazing anniversary cake in the shape of the number 25, which was made by LoveLeigh’s Cakery, who also donated 100 extra cupcakes.
There were prizes donated to the school by community members, students and teachers for stalls such as the extremely popular cent sale.
There were also performances including dances, plays, magic tricks and Bentley Park College’s Concert Band.
Dances were performed by diverse cultures, including Aboriginal and Irish.
The school’s year 7 news team, BPC News, recorded two livestreams, which can be found on the school’s Facebook page.
The reporters Vince, Joel and Elay also recorded a weather update and other footage that will later be edited and put into a video for their fellow students and teachers to watch. Another highlight was a historical display commemorating the college’s 25th anniversary and merchandise sales, including Bentley Park College showbags.
Fireworks ended the night thanks to Xplosive Art Fireworks.
It was an inspiring display, which was livestreamed thanks to the BPC News team.
Proceeds from the fete will go towards a shade infrastructure for the primary playground and other items.
Bentley Park College thanks all who were involved in the fun and successful event.
